Oriental Medicine Concepts - Applying Yin and Yang to Aromancy
What makes Aromancy special is how and where every one of essential oil has its own righteous place on the board. It helps you to know what they are for, even if you are not totally familiar with them, or to find one that you are looking for quickly. The design is like a mandala. As a collective, it is a representation of the Universe, and as an individual within the collective, each oil possesses more power beyond that of known efficacy.
Essential oils are studied and categorised according to scent profile - how do you feel when you inhale the aroma - to determine Yin type or Yang type.
Within each element, Yin type oils are placed in the interior, and Yang type oils are placed in the exterior.
The exception is with Fire Element. Paradoxical because Fire is Yang, but its central location makes it Yin. Flowers are the epitome of expression (Yang) in order to attract (Yin) bees for pollination. This explains the inter-transformative nature of Yin and Yang.
Applying Yin and Yang in Your Consultation
On the most fundamental level, a healer can treat a patient with only Yin and Yang principle.
Start from observing if your client has a Yin type or Yang type personality regardless of sex.
Your client’s issue will fall into one of the two types. Is it something that can not be changed? If so, the way to happiness is by accepting the situation and move on. This is a Yin type. For example, if it is something that goes back to birth or something other people do on their free will. On the other hand, if the issue is something that can be changed with determination, then this is Yang type.
Remember that Yin and Yang are not independent. Damage in Yin can be supported by strong Yang, but can also overcompensate and further damage Yin. It is best not to define any situation as strictly Yin or Yang. Instead, bring your observation to your client’s awareness, and watch again the response.
