Oriental Medicine Concepts  - Wood Element

Fire Element is about your true original self in the highest form. We spend most of our life trying to be someone when all we have to do is to remember who we are. The heart is our essence, our pure self. In its perfect form, it is full of joy and beauty. Fire Element corresponds to the heart and the small intestine. The Heart is the home to our Shen; this is our Spirit. When our Shen is strong, then this will show in our whole presence, the way we act and conduct our lives. The word for heart in Chinese also means 'mind'.  It encompasses a much broader understanding than we have in the west.  Contradicting to an image of fire, the energetic is innermost Yin and “inviting” and “cooling”.

Problems surrounding Fire Element:

Fire Element manifests in our body through the heart, small intestine, pericardium, and the function known as the triple burner, which regulates the flow of energy, fluids and body temperature.

The heart governs the blood, and its paired organ, the Small Intestine does the job of separating good from bad. Fire correspondences include the ability to establish relationships, express love, and sexuality, expansiveness, enthusiasm, passion, playfulness, joyfulness, warmth and relaxation. Fire gives you warmth, light, and life, but it can also burn you up. Excessive Fire can bring aggression, impatience and impulsive behavior. The heart is an organ that is deeply affected by other organs. The heart is so delicate and fragile, that when the damage is done it is often irreversible. It is said, that when the disease reaches the heart, there is no cure. But normally external pathogenic factors will not reach or harm the Heart, because of the Pericardium

The Physical Aspect

Deficient Fire:

Chills and numbness of the extremities, impaired circulation of the blood and bodily fluids, and menstrual, urinary, and sexual dysfunction. The lungs can lose their ability to expand and contract fully and easily, resulting in poor oxygenation of the blood, coughing, and nasal congestion. We may experience sluggish digestion, abdominal pain, and watery diarrhea because the digestive organs lack the heat needed to process and assimilate nourishment.

Excess Fire:

painful inflammation of the joints, hypersexuality, chronic infections, dryness of the lung, inflamed throat and sinus, burning diarrhea and urination.

The physical manifestation of disease in Heart is beyond the scope of Aromancy. A tell-tale sign of Heart disease is palpitation, shortness of breath, poor memory etc.

Small Intestine:

When the Small Intestine cannot separate good from bad, it can cause low energy, digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome, insomnia, cardiac disease, tinnitus, and food allergy.

The Emotional Aspect

The emotion associated with fire is a joy. Joy is a positive emotion, but it can quickly lead to opposite, negative emotions, such as vanity, jealousy, frustration, regret, grief, disconnection. The challenge is to share joy without thought of reward. An unfulfilled heart/mind is a slave to the emotions, which means that it has lost its proper function is as the ruler.

Overjoy: too much, out of control joy turns to mania and mental confusion

Emotions associated with other organs, sadness, grief, anger, and worry, all causes damage to Heart, and manifests as depression, anxiety, insomnia, and restlessness

Small Intestine as the sorter of good and bad is impaired, it has lost the orientation in the spiritual sense, and acts in depraved or degrading manner.

Recommendation for a successful consultation

Fire element In plants are flowers, which is the most delicate and manifested at the peak of plants’ life. Some are exotic, and extravagant, others are humble, understated, but elegant ones. Each has its own story. The choice of flower reveal a lot about the person. How do we unmask and realise our true nature, hidden behind emotional baggage we carry - this is the work we do, whether we are conscious of it or not.

To heal the heart, you must go back to all other Elements and address the issues surrounding them.

Study each of flower essential oils in your collection; of their colours, shapes, cultural aspect, of their natural habitat, and create your own flower language. Story you tell about them may resonate with your client, if so, you may have entered the magical space of Aromancy.
